I have been to this place to dine in 3 or 4 times since it has opened, and I love it! I think the food is much better than the other local mexican restaurants. I love El Famous, and used to go there once a week, but I no longer have the iron stomach that I used to and find their food too greasy... Fajitas is just as delicious without the grease. I think the prices are reasonable for the amount of food. I usually have enough for a second meal. The dine in service is excellent. Very quick and friendly. And they don't skimp on giving you extra chips before your meal.

Been there twice and enjoyed it both times. Good chips and salsa while you are waiting for your food. Had chicken and shrimp fajitas from there.. both were really done well. Beans seem to be authentic (not from a can). Would definitely go back.. And Cher, if you want a taco salad, go to taco bell.

This place is great especially for being in Tinley Park. The food is great and the owner is always polite. The guac is made to order and the salsa is homeade. If I don't feeling like driving to the city for Mexican food I always go here. Never have I been disappointed.

I ate here off of a few suggestions from friends that this was good, fast Mexican food. After reading other reviews, I was worried about how the service would be, but I had no problems. I went with my parents, so it was a very early dinner and not busy at all when we arrived. As dinner progressed more people did arrive and service did not suffer. I found our waitress to be well informed when I had a question about how the sopes were made. She came back often to check if we needed anything or refills, but did not hover. I just had the chorizo burrito. It was a typical portion, which was more than enough for two meals for me. It was the average price that I have seen at comparable restaurants. It was not greasy at all, which is nice considering it was chorizo. I will say though, that the chorizo had a different flavor than I'm accustomed to. I'm still trying to figure out what made it taste so different. It wasn't bad, just not what I was used to. It almost had a limey taste. My parents had the 3 taco dinner (pork) and the fish taco dinner. The taco sizes seemed to be a little small, but they were good. I don't know if they made their own tortillas or not. The beans and rice that came along were good. The salsa that came with the chips definitely seemed homemade. I can't handle spicy foods and I would consider both mild. The green salsa definitely had a lot more flavor than the red. The green was also chunkier whereas the red was a bit watery in comparison. Overall I would say this is an average Mexican place. I've had better and I've had worse. Based on my experience, I would eat here again and try a margarita next time.

Steak fajitas were ok. No real seasoning to speak of. Service was aweful. The server did not write down everything we ordered. Waited way too long for the bill. We had to start putting on our coats before she started to ring up the bill.

I can't tell you how much I want to like this restaurant but they just don't get the job done. I could walk to this spot in less than five minutes so I would love to have an authentic Mexican restaurant that I could enjoy close to home. I have given this restaurant several opportunities to earn my business and there is one consistent thing that has happened on each visit. The service is horrible and the owner walks around the dinning room clueless. The margaritas are average and are clearly from a mixture which you could purchase at any liquor store. The chips are right out of a bag off of the shelf at the grocery store so that's another thing that you could do at home. The salsa is decent not the best but not the worst. One thing I will say is that their entrees are always good but with the inattentive servers which work here you have a good chance of getting your food cold. There are many options for Mexican food in the area that will not only taste better but the staff will appreciate your business. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the other restaurants in the area.

We've been here several times. Our favorite sit-down Mexican place in the area. The food is comparable, really better, than most of the similar sorts of restaurants in the area. Desserts are good too.

The only items on the menu I've tried are the tacos, so keep that in mind when you read this partial review. Pretty much any of the tacos are solid. My favorites are the shrimp and fish tacos, which come topped with cabbage. The steak ones are excellent, too. This is one of the few places in the south suburbs I've patronized more than once.

I really like this place. It has a cozy feel without axtually being too small. The wait staff are always friendly and nice & the food is always good.

Went to dinner on a Saturday night - party of 6. The place was semi-busy. I think there were only 2 waitresses working the joint, so service was a little slow, but not bad at all. Very friendly. Food was great. Three of us had steak tacos, and the steak was very good. Two different salsas on the table, chips were fresh, beans were authentic. The small margarita was a good size for $5. They have 1/2 price margaritas 3 nights a week and there are coupons online. The bill for 6 with drinks was $62. Good deal, great food. would for sure come back.

I have mixed feelings on this place still... Pros: Drive-Thru Good margaritas and beer selection(Dine In) One of very few choices for Mexican in the area. Clean restaurant, pretty room Decent prices Cons: Mediocre service... Had to ask for water 3 times never offered dessert, etc. And bottom line the food just isn't Authentic enough for me. It's sort of just a step and a half above Taco Bell at the end of the day.

Been dining here more often as the food is consistently very good. Nice menu with many choices, portions. Margaritas are prepared by the server; she always knocks it out of the park! Margarita specials on Sun/Thur's. Extremely good prices. Currently my favorite local Mexican restaurant. An added bonus-has drive thru! Only wish is this location had outdoor seating as the other two do, will try one of them yet this summer.

I have been here several times and really love it. It has become one of the go-to places for me and my boyfriend. We've always only used the dine-in option. I've never used carry-out or drive-thru so I can't really comment on that, but I've always had a great experience dining in. Like most Mexican restaurants, complimentary chips and salsa are served. Actually two different kinds of salsa, both delicious. All the food I've ordered has been delicious. I loved the taco salad...but beware, it's enormous! The taquitos and tostadas are great as well. My boyfriend once ordered an enchilada. It wasn't his favorite only because it was gigantic and completely smothered in cheeses and sauces (to be honest, I don't think he really knew what an enchilada was when he ordered it). I do like the large menu and the photographs. It really enhances the menu. I think think the prices are very reasonable, especially for a sit-down and get waited on kinda place. Also, they are great and mailing out coupons (really good ones too that I love to use!) and they also have gift cards available on restaurant.com . I like the atmosphere as well. I've always been seated in the booths that surround the dining room. The tables always seem to be used for larger parties, which I think makes the room work. The service is a bit slow, but I'm okay with that. Usually there are only one or two waitress for the entire restaurant. I've never felt annoyed with the slowness of the service, I just appreciate the dining experience and I never feel rushed like in some places. Definitely love this place and will be going back a lot in the future.

I've read about alot of people bashing this place. It was my 1st time there i got my stuff to go though. I thought the food was a decent price, i got the fajita dinner and a carne asada dinner and both of them were awesome. Maybe i'lll eat there next time to test the waters a little more? i liked it and i think ill return there again.

Tied for the second worst restaurant I have ever been to. Sorry, but this was some of the most bland, poorly-cooked AMERICAN meals I have ever eaten.

  • Carm M.

It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either. Service was so-so. Food was hit or miss. There was 10 of us and half liked their food and the other half did not. Will likely not returned.

Good food, the salsas they served with chips was very good and the burrito suizo was outstanding.

Love this place. Great food: especially the combination Fajita dinner...try and Chicken & Shrimp, corn fajitas. The service is friendly, fast and positively responsive! The food is always fresh and seasoned well. You're greeted with a friendly courteous smile, coupled with good customer service. I am confident of their food: it's taste and fresh quality. I'm confident of the service and their pricing. I'm never disappointed. This is where I go when seeking authentic Mexican food near my home. The only reason I gave it four stars, as oppose to five, is that I wish that the dinning room was larger...or better yet...it would be wonderful if Fajitas where a free-standing...stand alone...restaurant. Right? Yay!

Too expensive and not that good. They didn't even have hot sauce. They also got my order wrong. I would not come here again. Not worth the money.

Decided to try something 'new'. The environment was clean and tidy. The environment was clean with a smell of tortilla upon entering. The complimentary salsa samples (mild & spicy) were more watery than what I'm accustomed to. The taste was adequate. Folks will eat most anything when hungry. Tried the shrimp and steak tacos. Shrimp were tiny (no oxymoron here) and would have been smothered with a side dish of assorted veggies if it were not for my wife asking for it as a side item. Steak tacos were finely diced, dry and over seasoned and over cooked. My lemonade tasted like it was made from a Margarita mix. Strange aftertaste. No offer for refills at all. Overall, the tacos were small in size but overcompensated with veggies. I would not recommend this place and have no interest in returning. I feel that there is an effort to please a majority of taste buds that stick yo 'authentic' cooking. I would describe this as a Mexican 'style' eating experience. The scenery looks Mexican, but the food is bland. I hope they have a future. We were not impressed.

They have the best chicken tamales. I also like that they keep the salsa and chips coming, but the best part is they are family friendly ! P.S. Their bathrooms are very clean too!

Place is still open so I figured they must be doing something right. Went there a week ago with my family and food was decent, but the service was weak. I ran out of tortillas and had to ask a 2nd time, and by the time I received them my food was cold. Tortillas were over heated and I was charged for them. Went there last night and unfortunately had the same server as a week ago. Tried the fajitas and they were ok, but would rather pay that much for uncle julios fajitas which come in a bigger serving than these. I drank 1 glass of water the whole meal hoping for my server to notice my empty glass on the end of the table. No luck there. I won't be eating here anymore even though they're just down the street from me.

This food was fantastic. I met my friend here for lunch last weekend. I ordered a lunch special and I ate the entire thing, which is unlike me because I like leftovers! I liked everything about this place. The friendly service, the food, the décor and it was a nice atmosphere. I highly recommend it. I even bragged about it to my husband, so now we are planning a family dinner there this weekend.

You have to try the Carne Asada dinner!!! Best steak I've ever had in my life... I try to go on Mondays after work- my boyfriend and I usually get the waitress with reddish hair and I never have to wait for a refill or for my bill. Food & service get five stars!!! Four stars overall because we haven't tried take out yet;; write a review on that soon!

I ordered the burrito suizo lunch special ....I only ate half of it & got bad stomach cramps.... The chicken tasted like canned tuna...eeww. WOW.... this place went downhill fast. It was great 2 years ago when it first opened.. and for God's sake: DUST YOUR LADIES ROOM!!

I've been here before, in the drive-thru. Never dine in. It wasn't awful. I would say since they've opened, I've been there about 3-4 times just b/c I don't get out to that area that often. But I've been wanting Mexican food, but there is nothing really good by me. So I took Harlem home to stop there since I wouldn't have to get out of the car. My total for 4 tacos and a regular horchata was $14.10. I have a hard time believing that 4 tacos cost me $12. $3 a piece. Are you kidding me?? Also, the boards prices were not the same as what the kid told me they were a piece and what they were in the menu. The only thing I can think of is that I was charged more than normal for avocado added, but when I opened them at home, there was a very thin slice on each only. Not enough to warrant $0.80 a slice, especially since Aldi's sells whole ones at $0.49 a fruit. Also, I had gotten one fish taco, which is supposed to come with lettuce, tomato and cheese according to the menu. The other three were carnitas, which have onion and cilantro. I told them no cilantro for the carnitas tacos (which I had to clarify again after he read back my order and said with cilantro). Now, I understand that if someone doesn't tell you no cilantro on a fish taco, that you shouldn't assume they don't want it. But if you know your menu says lettuce, tomato and cheese as the toppings for a taco, wouldn't you make sure, or just be safe and ask? Nope. Instead, I got a fish taco with cilantro and some weird slaw. Ew and Ew. Now onto the food. Carnitas are my favorite. I thought I would try a fish taco to see if they were good for the future (for Lent). I make Carnitas at home and always order them when they are on the menu b/c I love them. They had decent flavor here, but were on the dry side, like they were reheated with no juice instead of made that day. The fish taco had no flavor. Except for the soapy cilantro taste. I picked as much of it off as possible, but I couldn't get it all. The slaw was flavorless as well. The fish tasted like unseasoned fish. There was no salt or pepper taste. I get people put slaw on fish tacos. I don't get Mexican restaurants putting slaw on fish tacos. I also don't get why a Mexican restaurant didn't give the slaw any flavor if they planned on using it. Onto service. Besides the fact that they couldn't get their prices right, they were ridiculously slow. It was 1pm on a Wed afternoon and there was only one car directly in front of the restaurant. The next closest car was a few stores down, so not likely a patron of the restaurant. Why it took 20 minutes to get out a drive-thru order is beyond me. I've ordered $40 worth of food at the Panera drive-thru in Matteson before with only one person working the drive-thru and got my food in less than half the time. It makes no sense to me at all. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone, nor will I give it another thought once I finish this review. This was definitely the last time I try to give this place a chance. If you like mediocre food and service for way more than an authentic Mexican restaurant will charge you for better food, then please, by all means, go to Fajitas.

Have been here a few times with my boyfriend. The food is authentic Mexican food, the facility is very clean and the staff is outstanding. Service can be slow when busy but what restaurant isn't. Overall I love it at Fajitas.

Half priced margaritas on Thursday, and better than average Mexican food. My wife and I each had the steak taco dinner, both of us were very happy with the portions and the flavor.

I was craving Mexican food the other night and decided to give Fajitas Mexican Restaurant a try. After we were seated the waitress brought out our chips and salsa. The salsa had good flavor, but no spice. My chimichanga had ground beef, refried beans, cheese, and random pepper parts. If I wanted Mexican food with ground beef I would go to Taco Bell, simple as that.

The chicken was the kind that tastes like is was steamed all day, with little flavor. I had the chicken tacos and it was basically chicken mush on a tortilla. Will not be back. The waitress was pleasant, but didn't make up for the lack of flavor.

Forgot to check inn when I was there. But I'm always happy when I come here. Great service. Great Fajitas dinner (steak and Chicken). The chips and dip are always fresh and I love their guacamole! Also ordered the Flautas. Very yummy.

I ordered nachos.. which apparently at this place means chips, cheese and refried beans. They did deliver and that was nice. The food quality was not that great.

Accidentally came across this place. My boyfriend and I absolutely enjoyed every bite and every drink. Staff was awesome. We both had dishes with steak. Meat just melted in your mouth. Ordered also a tamale and chimichanga which was amazing also

I've been to this location a number of times and the staff and manager have always been polite and on top of things. The wait for food is not long at all. Delicious taco salad, tacos, enchiladas, and margaritas. The bathroom of a Mexican restaurant can sound like a scary place but it's always clean and pleasant at this fajitas. Fajitas brings back memories of my vacation to Mexico, but I try to suppress the memory of my son's TJ kidnapping. The parking up front is convenient. Their prices are fair (unlike the kidnappers), and the atmosphere is light and inviting.

Came here for dinner with the boyfriend and his parents who frequent this place. The place is very clean and new looking in a fairly new looking strip mall. Our waitress was very nice, but I think she was having an off night. The burrito suizo my boyfriend ordered arrived sans suizo, and the chicken burrito his dad ordered arrived a as a steak burrito. The food was good enough - nothing special. Like most places, you get chips and salsa to start. The green salsa was good. The chips were kind of stale. My shrimp fajitas were good. The guacamole was probably the best part of the whole meal. Would I eat here again? Yes, I would, but it definitely wouldn't be my first pick.

The food is good but the service is bad. I was the only one in the restaurant and I waited by the video poker machines to pass the time. They never made my food. Totally forgot about me. I WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE PLACE. The salsa is also watery.

FORGET ABOUT IT!!!!!!!! Over priced and bland food and the service is absolutely terrible. The waitress never came to our table to ask if we needed anything or if we wanted more drinks. Just terrible food and even worse service.

My favorite place in the area for REAL Mexican food. Came here one day to "try it out" and have been returning regularly since. The staff is always friendly. The food is above average. One of the best Tamale's around. Soft and moist. Great flavor. Main course dishes are just as tasty. Appetizer chips & salsa if very good. Nice warm chips and two flavors of salsa. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

If you have a love affair with great Mexican food, Fajitas is what you want. Far too often, we've gone out to other Mexican restaurants only to either get stomach cramps, spend too much or it taste awful. Fajitas is the best place Orland/Tinley has ever seen and it's a lot more affordable. The chicken is meh at best, but I find that with every Mexican restaurant. The beef and steak are delicious. Berta is the most friendly server you will ever meet and she always remembers you. I find Fajitas to be more authentic Mexican and other places have "Americanized" the food.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
